Warrington Borough Council has unveiled the Bank Quay Gateway regeneration, a major scheme that could deliver up to 4,500 homes and commercial space, linked to the Liverpool–Manchester rail corridor. Elsewhere, proposals include 580 homes near New Whittington, and up to 390 homes in Ainsworth, Bury from Taylor Wimpey.
