A four-year framework agreement has been launched by New Forest District Council for the Cyclical Decorating and Cleaning of Council-Owned Properties. The contract includes external and internal decoration, covering fascias, soffits, bargeboards, handrails, shed doors, and communal areas, along with cleaning of rainwater goods and rendered surfaces. Minor timber repairs to structural elements such as window and door frames, sheds, and garages are also required. This is a significant opportunity for housing maintenance specialists to contribute to NFDC’s long-term property upkeep. Meanwhile, Newcastle City Council has issued a Prior Information Notice (PIN) for the Supply and Installation of Windows and Doors in New Mills and Rachael Maughan Estates. This 13-month project requires experienced contractors to provide and fit high-quality double-glazed windows and secure doors, improving energy efficiency and security within these residential communities. The project is set to reduce heating costs for tenants while ensuring compliance with modern housing standards. Prospective bidders are encouraged to register their interest early.

A major procurement framework for HVAC products and installation services is currently in the early market engagement phase, managed by the Northern Housing Consortium Ltd. This 48-month framework is designed to create a centralized purchasing solution for public sector housing providers, ensuring cost-effective procurement of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) products. Proposed lots within the framework include boilers, radiators, pipework, drainage systems, plumbing materials, air conditioning units, and refrigeration components. Additionally, an installation-only lot is planned for suppliers specializing in system fitting. The Consortium is actively seeking feedback from potential bidders to refine the framework, with supplier engagement sessions scheduled in late March and early April 2025. In Wales, Gwynedd Council is advancing plans for a new 56-bed residential and nursing care home in Penrhos, Pwllheli, inviting tenders for the mechanical and electrical construction of the facility. This £15.4m contract, spanning 19 months, includes the installation of electrical systems, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and medical-grade infrastructure to support residents requiring dementia care and assisted living services. The development will also feature a communal restaurant, therapy rooms, a hairdressing salon, and a Manual Handling training facility. Construction is set to begin in January 2026, with project completion anticipated by August 2027. The tender is being managed through Sell2Wales, where bidders can access the full specifications.

Further north, Crown Estate Scotland is focused on enhancing energy efficiency at Poldean Cottage North in Applegirth, opening a four-month contract for sustainability improvements. The successful bidder will be responsible for increasing the thermal performance of the property, installing solar panels, and integrating an air source heat pump system. This initiative aligns with the UK’s commitment to lowering carbon emissions in social housing and ensuring residents benefit from reduced energy costs. The contract duration will be confirmed upon selection of the winning contractor, with an optional extension of up to one month based on project requirements. Finally, Telford and Wrekin Council has published a tender for the provision of Annual Fire Risk Assessments across social housing properties. This contract, valued at £150k, will run for an initial period of 46 months, with potential extensions subject to mutual agreement. The selected contractor will conduct comprehensive fire risk evaluations, ensuring compliance with the latest fire safety regulations and minimizing hazards across residential units. The procurement process requires fixed-cost tender submissions, with the contract set to commence on June 1, 2025. The deadline for enquiries is April 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
