Driving sustainability and housing quality, Perth and Kinross Council awarded a £2.4m, 24-month contract to QTS Contracts North for the refurbishment of enhanced voids and buy-back properties. The comprehensive programme includes works such as kitchen and bathroom upgrades, solar PV installation, insulation, fire safety, and other measures to meet Scottish Housing Quality Standards and Net Zero targets. Targeting local infrastructure upgrades, East Riding of Yorkshire Council appointed Brooklyn Builders to deliver a 24-month contract for litter bin installation and repair works across the borough. The award ensures upkeep of public amenities as part of wider environmental maintenance. Accelerating the shift to renewable energy, Newark and Sherwood District Council selected Geo Green Power for a £181k, 12-month solar PV contract. The work will install panels at Gladstone House and Broadleaves House Extra Care Schemes, helping reduce carbon footprint and lower energy costs through landlord-linked systems.
Preserving arboricultural assets, Cheshire West and Chester Council has appointed a consortium of suppliers including Arboforce Group, Cornthwaite Tree Care, and others under a £1.25m, 24-month Tree Works Framework. The framework supports proactive maintenance and safety across council-managed landscapes. Expanding affordable housing supply, Kingdom Housing Association has entered a negotiated agreement with Barratt East Scotland for a £5.82m development at Craigtoun, St Andrews. The deal, forming part of the wider housing provision, allows for direct contract award due to site ownership and developer exclusivity. Enhancing safety standards, Golden Lane Housing awarded Tersus Consultancy a £600k, 48-month call-off contract for asbestos consultancy services. The appointment was made through the Fusion21 Building Safety and Compliance Framework and covers England and Wales.
Supporting structural maintenance, Moray Council appointed Pat Munro Construction to deliver waterproofing works to Level 4 of Batchen Lane MSCP in Elgin. The £452k project runs for 4 months and was procured via a mini competition through the Civil Engineering Small Works Framework. Modernising existing stock, Grwp Cynefin has selected Brynbuild for the refurbishment of six flats and communal areas in Bala, with works spanning 9 months. The contract forms part of the organisation’s ongoing efforts to enhance internal living standards and shared facilities.
