A strong wave of contract activity continues across the UK social housing sector, with councils and housing associations awarding significant works spanning adaptations, repairs, estate regeneration, and compliance upgrades.

Leading the update, Stevenage Borough Council has awarded PiLon a £1.68m contract for Aids & Adaptations Works. Running over 36 months, the programme will deliver vital bathroom, kitchen, and external property adaptations to enhance accessibility and improve the quality of homes across East Anglia.

Norwich City Council has followed with the appointment of Bell Group on an £1.2m cyclical repairs and decorating programme. This eight-month contract will ensure the council’s housing stock remains well-maintained, with a structured programme of planned repairs, decoration, and upkeep across its residential portfolio.

Cairn Housing Association Ltd. has entrusted H Clarke & Sons t/a HCS Mechanical and Electrical Services with a targeted bathroom refurbishment project at Lochbrae Court. Valued at £455k and set over 48 months, the works will involve replacing 30 bathrooms and managing asbestos removal, securing safe and modernised facilities for residents in Scotland.

Another significant award sees Incommunities Ltd. contract E A Foulds for fully managed servicing and repair of lifts and escalators. Worth £1.67m over 60 months, this North West-based agreement covers ongoing maintenance, compliance, and reliable operation of essential vertical transport systems in housing blocks.

Marking the largest investment in this round, Sutton London Borough has confirmed Lovell Partnerships as its delivery partner for the Elm Grove Estate Regeneration. With a contract value of nearly £49.9m over 84 months, the scheme will transform the estate with around 290 mixed-tenure homes, commercial and community floor space, and up to 50% affordable housing—representing one of the most substantial regeneration commitments in Greater London.

Completing the set, Aberdeenshire Council has appointed R B Wilson (Electrical) to upgrade emergency lighting and fire alarms at Ury House. This £283k contract, lasting four months, underscores the council’s focus on resident safety and compliance across its Scottish housing stock.
