Strengthening housing resilience in Scotland, Aberdeenshire Council has awarded two major Housing Reactive Repairs frameworks worth a combined £27.21m. The £10.4m Builder Work & Masonry contract, running for 24 months across six geographical areas, has been secured by Crystal Clear Grampian, Space Solutions (Scotland), James Fairley Design & Build, V G Willox, 1Call Property Maintenance, and Bridgefield Services. Covering urgent repair works, masonry services, and void refurbishments, the programme ensures housing stock is maintained to safe and lettable standards.
Complementing this, the £16.81m Electrical Works framework, also spanning 24 months, has been awarded to Heatcare Oil & Gas, NSB Contracting, Procast Building Contractors, Dennis Gordon Electrical, Nucore Group, and Hosie Electrical Contracting. This contract delivers rapid-response electrical repairs, rewiring, compliance upgrades, and ongoing maintenance, safeguarding the functionality and safety of council homes across Aberdeenshire.
Driving decarbonisation in Yorkshire, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council has appointed Sustainable Building Services (UK) to deliver a £4.7m Energy Efficiency and Low-Carbon Heating programme. Spanning 30 months, the project falls under Lot 3 of the CHIC Healthy Homes framework and focuses on retrofitting council housing with insulation, low-carbon heating systems, and energy efficiency measures, supporting the borough’s carbon reduction commitments.
Addressing void property challenges, Aberdeenshire Council has awarded Scorgie Construction a £405k Internal Wall Insulation and Void Works contract. Running for 8 months, the scheme covers comprehensive refurbishments including rewiring, window replacements, heating installations, and decorations, ensuring empty homes are swiftly brought back into use.
Supporting heating resilience, New Forest District Council has appointed A.P. Faulkner (Heating) to a £1.83m Domestic Boiler Replacement Framework. Operating over 60 months, the deal covers the removal, supply, and installation of boilers across the council’s housing stock, alongside tenant liaison and contract management.
Expanding security infrastructure, Kent County Council has launched a £100m CCTV, Access Solutions & Security Services Framework. Running for 48 months and open to contracting authorities nationwide, the multi-lot award brings together leading suppliers including Openview Security Solutions, Tyco, Pro Sentry, and TMS Protection. Services range from CCTV installation and AI analytics to access control and remote monitoring, enabling scalable security upgrades across social housing estates.
Improving fire safety in London, Waltham Forest Council has awarded Harmony Fire two contracts. The first, worth £170k over 12 months, covers the design, installation, and maintenance of fire systems, including alarms, emergency lighting, and detection equipment. The second, also valued at £170k for 11 months, delivers ongoing fire safety services, risk assessments, and compliance works to protect tenants and communal areas. Promoting net zero innovation, Wolverhampton City Council has contracted Go Monitor to deliver a £53k Energy Monitoring Sensors project. Spanning 22 months, the pilot will install 50 in-home sensors and 12 outdoor air-quality monitors as part of a Net Zero Neighbourhood trial, enabling performance tracking before and after retrofit interventions.
Addressing waste management needs, Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Council has awarded two contracts worth £1.85m each to Veolia ES UK and Avon Material Supplies. Running 25 months, the framework covers haulage, containers, and disposal services at Christchurch Recycling Centre, handling soil, rubble, plasterboard, mattresses, and asbestos in line with recycling and compliance requirements. Enhancing community safety, Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council has appointed Gryphon Event Safety and Security to a £449k CCTV Monitoring Services contract. Spanning 36 months, the deal provides staffed monitoring of CCTV control rooms, collaboration with local police, and improved protection across public housing estates and community spaces.
Boosting recycling performance, North Lanarkshire Council has awarded Saica Natur UK a £347k Recycling & Treatment of Kerbside Collected Paper and Card contract. Running 18 months, the programme supports sustainable waste management and circular economy objectives across tenant collections. Delivering specialist refurbishment, Buckinghamshire Council has contracted Tofield for a £232k Internal Refurbishment of Saxeton Children’s Home. The 5-month project provides essential upgrades to residential care facilities, ensuring compliance and tailored housing for vulnerable young people.
Investing in housing infrastructure, Scottish Borders Housing Association has appointed Hugh LS McConnell for a £1.01m Roofing Works project at Inchmyre. Running for 12 months, the programme covers the replacement of roof coverings across 11 communal blocks, safeguarding long-term housing quality and improving energy performance.
