The latest UK social housing contract awards reveal a strong pipeline of investment in accessibility, compliance, and regeneration.

Fenland District Council has launched a £4.86m, 4-year Home Improvement Agency Disabled Adaptations Framework across East Anglia, managed by East Cambridgeshire District Council. Covering four lots – bathroom, internal, external, and heating adaptations – the framework supports independent living in March, Chatteris, Whittlesey, and Wisbech. Appointed suppliers include Lindum Group, Chas D. Allflatt, Aspire Adaptations, Foster Building Services, Ashco, and Westone Housing, delivering specialist accessibility and housing improvement works through to 2029.

Broadening the adaptation scope across the South East, mhs homes group has appointed OCO under its Aids and Adaptations (TMH S202) contract worth £736k for 36 months. The agreement covers specialist fitting, accessibility upgrades, and mobility-support installations to ensure properties meet diverse resident needs.

Strengthening its asset-management programme, Your Housing Group has awarded Connolly a £5m Domestic Roofing Framework covering the North West, Yorkshire and the Humber, East Midlands, and West Midlands. The 12-month contract spans roof renewals, maintenance, and weatherproofing for a wide housing portfolio between 2025 and 2028. In a separate award focused on compliance and safety, the Group has engaged JPS Projects for fire-safety remediation works at Kingswood under contract PRO0921, valued at £1.8m for 12 months in the North West. The project aims to enhance building fire integrity, passive protection systems, and structural safety compliance.

Fire-protection measures are also being strengthened at Regenda Group, which has awarded TF Jones Property Services a £625k contract running 48 months for fire-stopping and remedial works across its managed properties. This long-term framework supports ongoing compliance with building-safety standards and asset-resilience objectives across the North West portfolio.

Refurbishment and turnaround standards take centre stage in the East Midlands, where Rykneld Homes has awarded Concorde BGW a £12m contract over 34 months to refurbish empty homes and bring them up to the authority’s Lettable Standard. The works include repairs, redecorations, and compliance upgrades across properties in North East Derbyshire, improving re-let efficiency and quality assurance.

Boosting new-build delivery in the North West, Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council has appointed Wiggett Construction to deliver its Yates Street development, worth £2.48 million for 12 months. The design-and-build project features eight bungalows with communal areas, external works, and landscaped surroundings, enhancing local provision of accessible and energy-efficient homes. Additionally, the Council continues its housing expansion with a £2.39 million design-and-build contract awarded to The Casey Group for the construction of nine new houses at Briar Grove. Delivered over 12 months, the scheme includes a mix of two-, three-, and four-bed family homes with associated infrastructure, communal spaces, and landscaping, furthering the authority’s investment in modern, sustainable neighbourhoods.
