This capital works contract aims to improve the energy efficiency and security of homes across the provider’s portfolio through consistent and high-standard replacements. Stepping in to support responsive services, Davies Contractors has secured a £2.44m contract from Taff Housing Association Ltd. for a 36-month wrap-around reactive and planned maintenance framework across Cardiff. Split into multiple lots, the agreement encompasses emergency and non-emergency plumbing, gas, roofing, electrical, void works, and adaptation projects to complement the in-house Direct Labour Unit.
Bringing a fresh coat to community living, Oxford Direct Services Ltd has awarded a £2m, 24-month contract to Bell Decorating Group. This call-off contract supports the cyclical decoration programme for Oxford City Council homes, ensuring regular internal and external maintenance of residential properties. Powering upgrades across high-rise blocks, Barnet Homes has selected WG Wiggington for a £2.46m, 10-month project to replace electrical rising mains under “Batch 54”. The works target communal areas and inter-flat wiring systems to enhance safety and electrical integrity throughout the estate.
Rewiring the path to safer homes, Edinburgh City Council has entrusted Maclin Electric with a £2.07m, 12-month electrical refit and rewiring programme. The project involves circuit replacements within occupied domestic properties, reinforcing reliability and compliance across council-owned housing stock. Raising the bar for building compliance, Fusion21 has launched an extensive £800m Building Safety and Compliance Framework. Spanning 48 months and awarded to multiple suppliers, this 12-lot framework covers services from asbestos surveying and abatement to fire risk assessments, passive fire protection, legionella control, electronic security, and more – supporting member organisations across the UK in meeting evolving safety standards.
