Running for 36 months under the SWPA Retrofit and Decarbonisation Framework, the programme delivers deep energy retrofits across housing stock, reducing carbon emissions while improving tenant comfort and fuel efficiency.
Leicester City Council has awarded two major housing improvement contracts worth over £8m to strengthen energy efficiency and security across its housing stock. Sustainable Building Services (UK) secured a £4.28m Domestic Decarbonisation contract, running 36 months to deliver low-carbon upgrades that enhance energy performance and support the city’s net zero goals. Alongside this, Open View Security Solutions has been appointed to a £3.72m Electronic Door Entry Systems programme, also spanning 36 months with possible extensions, to install, maintain, and provide live fault-reporting for secure access systems. Together, these initiatives improve tenant safety, reduce emissions, and modernise housing infrastructure citywide.
Aberdeenshire Council has appointed a consortium of contractors including Crystal Clear Grampian, Space Solutions, James Fairley Design and Build, 1Call Property Maintenance, V G Willox, and Bridgefield Services for a £2.43m Housing Reactive Repairs programme. Covering 24 months with extension options, this multi-lot contract delivers urgent building repairs across nine geographical areas, ensuring fast response times and effective communication to maintain housing stock to high standards.
Bromley London Borough has awarded Libra Construction Services a £59k Adaptations for Disabled Access contract. Running for 12 months, the scheme provides major residential adaptations to improve accessibility, with additional works available to meet specialist health and occupational therapy needs. Pembrokeshire County Council has engaged Westward Energy Services for a £1.89m Servicing of Domestic Boilers and Heating Appliances contract. Over 36 months, the deal covers the servicing, repair, and replacement of boilers, air source heat pumps, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors across 5,461 homes, ensuring safety and compliance. St. Leger Homes of Doncaster has awarded Security Surveillance Systems a £125k GDX Door Entry Systems Maintenance contract. Lasting 9 months, the deal ensures reliable repairs and maintenance of existing security infrastructure across housing sites in Yorkshire and the Humber.
Cumberland Council has contracted Personnel Hygiene Services for a £365k Washroom Services programme. Running 36 months across approximately 100 sites, including care homes, libraries, and day centres, the works cover sanitary, clinical, and sharps waste management, ensuring safe and compliant disposal. Connexus Homes has launched a £12.3m Major Asset Works Framework with Novus Property Solutions and Bell Group. Spanning 24 months with possible extensions, the framework covers major refurbishment, damp and mould treatments, structural repairs, windows, doors, roofing, M&E, adaptations, and Decent Homes Standard works across the West Midlands.
Halton Housing Trust has appointed AKM Homes to deliver a £2.7m Development Works project at Crow Wood Lane. Running 13 months, the scheme provides 13 supported living units, including 10 apartments and 3 bungalows, meeting specialist housing needs in the North West. Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has awarded Hugh LS McConnell a £2m Various Major Refurbishments contract. Running for 12 months in the West Midlands, the works include property conversions, kitchens, bathrooms, demolitions, and full refurbishments across tenanted and vacant properties.
LiveWest Homes has appointed D R Jones Yeovil to deliver a £120k Balcony Replacement programme at Torlon Grove Street. Over 5 months, this small-scale housing contract replaces balcony decking across multiple properties to improve safety and standards. Havering London Borough has contracted Tradeline Solutions for a £72k Rear Extension project at 1 Macon Way.
