Spearheading decarbonisation efforts in the North East, Yorkshire, and the Humber, Broadacres Housing Association Ltd. has appointed RPS Group to deliver a £6.24m Retrofit & Decarbonisation Contract over 36 months. The contract covers a wide range of retrofit works, including the installation of photovoltaic panels, air source heat pumps, loft insulation, smart air bricks, and associated ventilation systems. As part of this project, ACG Building Services will provide critical glazing and window repair works across both void and occupied properties, including flatted estates and communal areas city-wide. The contract also includes the provision of necessary access platforms such as scaffolding and towers, ensuring safe and efficient delivery.
West Dunbartonshire Council is enhancing supported housing provision, awarding The JR Group a £5.37m, 48-month contract to construct 22 dementia-standard sheltered housing units at Bank Street. The development includes ancillary community and staff spaces within a four-story tenement-style structure, featuring dual lift access. The designs have been shaped to RIBA Stage 3, aligning with accredited dementia-friendly standards, and this project is procured through the SPA New Build Housing Construction (H2) framework. Pioneering new homes in Bedworth, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has handed J. Harper & Sons (Leominster) two residential construction contracts. Lot 1, worth £3.37m over 13 months, will see the construction of 15 dwellings at Armson Road on a former garage site. The contract will see the supply and installation of advanced Salto cloud-based digital fob access systems across the authority’s low-rise blocks. The upgrade will phase out legacy GDX and PAC systems to ensure seamless, modernized access control across the housing stock. Strengthening fire safety compliance, North Yorkshire Council has partnered with Logic Fire and Security under an 84-month, £390k contract for the Inspection and Supply of Fire Equipment. The awarded works will support the council’s ongoing safety obligations, ensuring consistency in fire safety inspections and equipment provision. Prioritizing resident safety in the North West, Livv Housing Group has entrusted ABM Fire and Security with a £150k, 36-month contract for Fire and Security Alarm Servicing and Maintenance Systems. The awarded contractor will be responsible for maintaining and servicing fire and security alarm systems across the client’s housing portfolio, ensuring reliable operation and ongoing regulatory compliance.
Bolstering structural resilience, South Tyneside Metropolitan Borough Council has selected MGM for a £1m, 50-month framework agreement. The contract covers the Provision of Damp Proofing, Timber Treatment, Wall Stabilisation, and Minor Structural Works. These services will protect the integrity of the council’s housing stock and mitigate structural risks across the borough’s properties. Championing regional maintenance services in Scotland, Albyn Housing Society Ltd. has commissioned multiple suppliers under a £256k, 3-month Moss Removal and Gutter Cleaning contract. HBL Building & Roofing, Cromarty Firth Marine Services, and Norblast will each manage designated lots across the Cairngorms, Inverness, Invergordon, and Scotland’s coastal regions. The works include comprehensive moss clearance and gutter maintenance to protect housing assets from weather-related damage.
