The latest social housing awards spotlight a diverse mix of refurbishment, servicing, and infrastructure projects across the UK, underlining the scale and importance of maintaining housing stock and public buildings.
Kicking off the updates, Stevenage Borough Council has awarded a short-term £125k Interim Void Contract to Lura Constructions and R Benson Property Maintenance. This 2-month agreement in East Anglia will focus on rapid turnaround of void refurbishment works, ensuring empty properties are swiftly brought back into use.
Strengthening compliance in Yorkshire and the Humber, Leeds Jewish Housing Association Ltd. has confirmed Denton Nickels UK for a £311k call-off covering gas servicing and maintenance. Running for 36 months, this measured-term contract covers boiler servicing, hot water repairs, ad-hoc replacements, safety testing, and emergency out-of-hours response across 242 homes.
Adding significant mechanical expertise, Southampton City Council has entrusted Corrigenda with a £3.55m, 60-month measured term contract for Mechanical Services. Covering schools, civic buildings, and housing stock, the programme spans planned maintenance, emergency repairs, plant replacements, ventilation and air conditioning, boiler servicing, and full compliance across public assets. On the fire safety front, the Council has also awarded Sevenside Security a £858k, 60-month deal to maintain and repair dry risers, smoke vents, fire extinguishers, and alarms. This long-term servicing contract reinforces compliance, ensuring life-safety systems across council-owned properties remain fully operational.
Addressing critical infrastructure, Staffordshire County Council has put in place a £1m Framework Agreement with DFP Services to deliver emergency lighting inspection, testing, and maintenance across 506 buildings. The 24-month contract covers educational facilities, care homes, civic offices, fire stations, and enterprise centres, with a rapid 4-hour response time for emergency call-outs.
Expanding housing delivery, Weaver Vale Housing Trust Ltd. has confirmed a £6.87m land and build package at Bakers Lane, appointing Chapter WBL. Over a 31-month tenure, the project will bring forward 33 new residential units alongside associated development services, contributing to regional regeneration and affordable housing provision in the North West.
Completing the set of awards, Together Housing Group has selected Secure Platform Scaffold and RIM Artium under a £4m, 48-month framework for Access and Scaffolding Services. Covering multiple geographical lots across the North West, the contract ensures safe scaffolding and access provision to support wide-ranging housing maintenance and construction programmes.
