Contract Awards: 14/08/2025

The latest UK social housing and public sector contract awards highlight a diverse mix of infrastructure, maintenance, and specialist service projects across multiple regions.

Transformative regeneration is set to take shape as VIVID secures a £57.5m agreement with PMC Construction & Development Services for the delivery of infrastructure and Phase 1 works at Victory Quay, Tipner East. Over 31 months, the project will deliver 181 new homes alongside core infrastructure including road layouts, sea wall coastal paths, drainage systems, landscaping, and a commercial space, marking a significant step in the area’s redevelopment. Long-term asset upkeep moves forward with an £8m, 48-month cyclical decorations and minor repairs contract awarded to Ian Williams and George Jones & Son (Contractors), ensuring sustained maintenance across its general needs housing stock in the South East and South West.

Community housing upgrades gain momentum as South Kesteven District Council awards Alfred Bagnall and Sons a £3.5m, 82-month external decoration framework. The works include pre-paint repairs to components such as doors, frames, fascias, and soffits, followed by comprehensive exterior redecorations as part of the council’s planned programme.

Essential building services receive a boost in Cornwall, where Cornwall Housing Ltd has awarded Correct Contract Services a £25m, 60-month contract for mechanical and electrical services. Covering gas, heating, electrical, and renewable systems across around 10,000 properties, the scope includes servicing, repairs, component upgrades, rewires, and communal lighting renewals to current safety standards.

Sustainable waste management takes centre stage with Staffordshire County Council awarding a £5.4m, 24-month food waste collection and disposal contract to Biffa Waste Services, Hemswell Biogas, and Severn Trent Green Power Group. The service, covering multiple delivery scenarios across the West Midlands, will focus on anaerobic digestion treatment of household and trade food waste, with provision for a 24-month extension.

Site clearance for future development progresses as Homes England (HCA) appoints DSM Demolition on an £610k, 8-month contract to demolish the South Staffordshire College Croft Street Campus. The works are a key enabler for delivering new homes on the redeveloped site.
