Today’s social housing contract awards spotlight: window replacements, renewable heating, fire safety upgrades, lift modernisation, solar roofing, and fitted kitchen supply revitalising homes across the UK.

Kicking off in Scotland, Edinburgh City Council has awarded CR Smith Glaziers (Dunfermline) a £3.74m call-off contract for the supply and installation of UPVC windows in low-rise council housing stock. Delivered via the SPA Windows & Doors framework, the 12-month programme aims to improve energy performance and resident comfort across its housing portfolio.

Transforming community infrastructure, Homes England (HCA) has secured Cognition Land and Water for a £1.35m contract to deliver drainage and landscaping works at Brookleigh Eastern End. Over 11 months, the project will include a new foul water pumping station, surface water attenuation pond, and environmental landscaping measures to stabilise and integrate the area sustainably.

Moving into the renewable energy sector, Orbit Group Ltd. has placed Robert Heath Heating on a £1m call-off contract over 12 months to service, maintain, and install renewable heating systems, hot water systems, and solar panels across its housing stock spanning the East Midlands, West Midlands, East Anglia, Greater London, and South East.

Strengthening fire safety, Eldon Housing Association Ltd. has appointed Axis Europe for a rapid three-month £1.88m contract to deliver urgent fire remedial works on properties across Greater London and the South East, ensuring compliance and resident protection.

Elevating accessibility standards, Fife Council has awarded Scotec Lifts a £1.3m contract for the design, supply, and installation of six new traction passenger lifts at Broomhead Flats. The 15-month sub-contract covers modernisation of existing lift equipment with a focus on long-term reliability and energy efficiency.

Investing in sustainability, Yorkshire Housing Limited has chosen Liam Bacon to deliver a £982k Solar Replacement Roofing Works contract across West Yorkshire. Over five months, the scheme will upgrade solar roofing installations to help tenants reduce energy costs and carbon footprints.

Supporting planned asset improvements, Haringey London Borough has signed a £4.8m measured term contract with DCK Construction for internal works across its housing portfolio. The scope spans kitchen and bathroom replacements, damp and mould remediation, fire safety upgrades, asbestos surveys, and mechanical and electrical services, safeguarding resident well-being through comprehensive upgrades.

Finally, Connect Housing has awarded Oakwood Kitchen Design Consultants a £1.25m call-off under Lot 13 of the EN:Procure Dynamic Purchasing System. Over 24 months, this agreement will supply high-quality fitted kitchens – from pre-assembled to accessible units – across West Yorkshire, supporting the association’s programme of modernisation for its social housing stock.
