The UK social housing sector sees a flurry of procurement activity today, highlighting major frameworks for planned maintenance, kitchen upgrades, and essential safety works across multiple authorities.

A significant boost to Reading Borough Council’s housing stock comes as Voids and Planned Maintenance (Call-off) is awarded to CLC Contractors at £8m, delivering comprehensive voids and planned maintenance services. Meanwhile, the Kitchen and Bathroom Replacement Programme (Call-off) goes to Novus Property Solutions for £4.2m, ensuring high-quality kitchen and bathroom refurbishments. Responsive property maintenance continues with Reactive Repairs and Maintenance (Call-off) secured by UI Social Infrastructure at £2m. Mechanical and HVAC systems will be managed under Planned and Reactive Maintenance of Mechanical and HVAC Installations (Call-off) awarded to BTU (Installation & Maintenance) for £700k, while lift services are covered through Planned and Reactive Lift Maintenance (Call-off) to Rubax Lifts at £1.2m. For essential kitchen supply, JTC Furniture Group will deliver under Kitchen Supply (Call-off) valued at £1.8m, complemented by a broad Managed Store contract worth £14m to Travis Perkins Trading Company, supporting day-to-day repairs, kitchens, bathrooms, PPE, and drainage and highways works.

Riverside progresses security infrastructure with Auto Gates, Doors, Barriers and Door Entry and associated External Security and Communication awarded to Maintec, Fieldway Compliance, Severnside Security, and DSSL Group at £37.3m, covering four regional lots for reactive and planned security systems. 

Fire safety compliance sees Fire Risk Assessment Works at Rykneld Homes appointed to A & G Plastering Contractors for £165k, addressing critical fire risk upgrades.

Magenta Living strengthens regulatory compliance through Asbestos Surveying, Sampling, Air Monitoring, Consultancy and Training Framework – ML2025/004, valued at £1m, with Environtec, North Star Environmental, and Pennington Choices providing essential asbestos services via direct award call-offs. 

Tai Calon Community Housing advances its WHQS programme with External Works – STA25-0050 awarded to MSH Building for £200k, covering major external refurbishments.

Finally, ESPO (Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation) expands its catalogue offerings under Electrical Goods and Accessories – 205_26, a framework at £10.5m, spanning white and brown domestic appliances, AV equipment, cameras, and two-way radios, delivered across the UK via Currys Group, Hughes TV and Audio, Stearn Electric Company, Thomas Stoner Supplies, and various suppliers.
