Contract Awards: 18/08/2025

A new round of UK social housing contract awards underscores ongoing investment in maintenance, compliance, and retrofit services, with suppliers securing key frameworks and call-off agreements across multiple regions.

Fresh momentum comes from Viewpoint Housing Association Ltd., which has appointed Bell Group on a £464k contract for internal and external painterwork across its housing developments in Scotland. Running for 12 months, this contract highlights planned cyclical maintenance to sustain housing stock quality and appearance.

Continuing in the East Midlands, Lincolnshire Housing Partnership (LHP) has finalised a £112k award to Rubax Lifts under Lot 3 for passenger lift maintenance. This call-off follows an assisted mini-competition under the Fusion21 framework and will ensure the safe operation, repair, and installation of passenger lifts as the existing contract approached expiry. Adding to its procurement activity, Lift and Engineering Services secured Lot 4 for domestic lift maintenance, valued at £111k. Covering stairlifts, through-floor lifts, ceiling track hoists, and platform lifts, this award supports accessibility and compliance with safety standards, directly enhancing resident wellbeing.

Further north, Lancaster City Council has awarded Joinery and Timber Creations a £192k contract for the supply of kitchen units under Lot 1 of the Procurement for Housing framework. This planned works programme will provide fitted kitchen solutions to support housing upgrades and tenant satisfaction.

On the compliance side, East Suffolk Council has entrusted Metro Rod with a £150k drainage services call-off contract. This 24/7 agreement covers emergency drain unblocking, planned maintenance, and replacement works, including re-lining of failed systems across Housing Revenue Account properties in East Anglia. Complementing this, the council has also appointed Green Gnomes on a £624k retrofit assessment contract, spanning around 624 dwellings. The scope covers assessor, designer, and co-ordinator roles, driving forward decarbonisation, regulatory compliance, and enhanced energy efficiency across the housing stock.
