Taking the spotlight, Leicester City Council has secured two major contracts. A £7m Citywide 33 month contract for Electrical Upgrades and Rewiring of Domestic Properties to Gap Property Services and UK Gas Services. This project includes electrical repairs, ongoing maintenance, and full rewire installations, delivering crucial improvements to the council’s housing stock and ensuring compliance with modern safety standards. Additionally, In a major capital project it has secured Lovell Partnerships to undertake the £20.3m Refurbishment of Hospital Close – Phase 2 (PAN3112). Set over a 13-month period, this project aims to deliver 100 refurbished apartments across 13 buildings. Key works include space remodelling, accessibility adaptations, structural improvements, internal refurbishments, external wall insulation, and the installation of air source heat pump systems and solar PV panels, alongside landscaping and car park construction.
Further north, Haringey London Borough has awarded RGE Services a 36-month, £84k contract for the planned preventative maintenance of Fire Safety systems within its Corporate Landlord and Schools estate. The project will ensure that fire safety measures remain robust and compliant, safeguarding public buildings and educational institutions. Across the West Midlands, Telford and Wrekin Council has appointed Prokill Pest Control to deliver Pest Control Services under a long-term 84-month contract. This award highlights the council’s proactive commitment to safeguarding public health and maintaining pest-free, hygienic environments. Turning to compliance, Anchor has appointed Socotec Asbestos for a 24-month, £90k contract to deliver Compliance Audits of Asbestos Services. This direct award, made via LHC’s Asset Safety & Compliance (ASC1) Framework, is vital in maintaining health and safety across Anchor’s properties.
Focused on improving supported housing, Stroud District Council has awarded EW Beard a £336k contract as part of its Independent Living Modernisation Programme – The Corriett. Over the course of 3 months, this direct framework award will enhance supported living accommodation, improving facilities to promote independent living for vulnerable residents. Concluding this series of awards, Hillcrest Homes in Edinburgh has chosen Go-Wright for a £268k contract to carry out External Fabric Repairs at 41 Lothian Road. Spanning 6 months, the project will involve roofing repairs, dormer and chimney head repairs, stonework restoration, and rainwater goods repairs, all supported by full scaffolding to ensure safe and effective delivery.
