Contract Awards:  14/07/2025

Catch up on new UK social housing contract awards, including large-scale refurbishments, plant maintenance, and fire safety works.

Spearheading this round of awards, Rykneld Homes has appointed Concorde BGW to deliver a comprehensive refurbishment programme worth £12m over 35 months in the East Midlands. The contract focuses on upgrading empty properties to meet the lettable standards between tenancy cycles across North East Derbyshire—boosting quality and reducing void turnaround time.

Demonstrating a firm commitment to infrastructure upkeep, Connexus Homes Ltd. has selected Mayglothling Waste for a £120k, 60-month contract to manage cyclical maintenance for sewage treatment plants across Shropshire and Herefordshire. The scope includes site inspections, desludging with photographic reporting, emergency response, and installation of real-time alarm monitoring systems to proactively manage plant failures.

Continuing efforts to improve building performance, Housing 21 has awarded EWIS a £189.8k contract spanning 12 months to carry out strip, insulation, and render works across multiple regions, including the North East, North West, East Anglia, and South East. As the contract falls under the UK threshold, it was awarded based on competitive local quotes in line with Section 87 of the Procurement Act.

Rounding off the latest updates, Housing 21 also appointed Hankinson Whittle to deliver replacement corridor and flat entrance fire doors across a wide geographic footprint, including Greater London, Yorkshire, East Midlands, and more. This £134.1k contract, set for 3 months, further reinforces its commitment to fire safety compliance, again awarded under local procurement thresholds.
