UK social housing contract awards spotlight major investments in renewable energy, monitoring services, and large-scale development frameworks, driving improvements across housing quality, safety, and community infrastructure.

Elevating energy efficiency, Wrexham County Borough Council has awarded Liberty Gas Group a £1.5m, 24-month contract for the service and maintenance of renewable energy, heating, and hot water systems. Covering air source heat pumps, solar thermal hot water systems, and unvented hot water systems, the agreement includes 24/7 emergency response across residential, void, and sheltered housing units throughout the county.

Boosting tenant safety, Jigsaw Homes Group Ltd has appointed PPP Taking Care to deliver £405k worth of alarm monitoring services over 36 months. The contract covers properties across the North West, Yorkshire and the Humber, East Midlands, and West Midlands, ensuring reliable alarm monitoring with an option to extend up to five years.

Scaling up housing delivery, Prosper Procurement Ltd has finalised a £500m, 48-month multi-supplier New Build Development Framework. Designed for registered social landlords, local authorities, and public sector bodies, the framework spans multiple UK regions and covers new build residential projects, refurbishments, extensions, and associated services, appointing leading construction firms including RE:GEN North East, Caddick Construction, Lovell Partnerships, and several others.

Driving district regeneration, Newark and Sherwood District Council has engaged T Balfe Construction, Aumas, and Gusto Construction for the £6.48m HRA New Builds Phase 6 programme. Over the 12-month term, the works will deliver multiple infill housing schemes of up to 10 dwellings per site, with potential for additional developments over a two-year extension.

Strengthening community housing foundations, Wiltshire Council has contracted Rigg Construction for £1.47m in groundworks at Bartlett House, Ludgershall. This 12-month project supports the delivery of affordable homes, laying the groundwork for quality living spaces in the South West.
