Delivering a major boost to energy efficiency, East Lindsey District Council has awarded Sureserve Energy Services UK a £5.56m contract for its Warm Homes Project. Running for 35 months across the East Midlands, the programme spans Boston Borough Council, East Lindsey and South Holland, requiring full whole-house assessments, retrofit planning, EPC certification, and installation of measures such as external wall insulation, with approvals tied to the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
Driving forward long-term improvement works, Almond Housing Association Ltd has appointed Response Building Maintenance Services, MCN (Scotland) and Bell Group to its £5.15m Kitchen Replacement Framework 2025–2029. This 48-month framework in Scotland covers the removal and replacement of kitchens, design and installation, plus associated works, structured under a regulated framework agreement that ensures compliance and delivery of community benefits.
Advancing property upgrades, Livv Housing Group has let a £1.4m, 24-month contract to Carroll Group, CLC Contractors, Elect Building and Maintenance, and Hankinson Whittle for the supply and fit of showers. The procurement, initiated in early 2025, ensures improved facilities across the housing stock in the North West. Addressing urgent needs, the Group has also commissioned Hankinson Whittle on a £400k contract to deliver kitchen and bathroom upgrades across 50–80 properties. This accelerated 8-month programme prioritises essential improvements to maintain housing standards and tenant satisfaction.
Bolstering energy resilience, Fife Council has awarded a two-lot commercial heating services contract worth £4.93m over 60 months. Lot 1 has been secured by Lovats Group, NG Bailey – Facilities Services, and Richard Irvin FM to deliver heating service, repair and maintenance across more than 340 public buildings and 24 housing sites in Scotland, covering boilers, renewables, water systems, and district heating schemes. Lot 2 has been awarded to Vital Energi Utilities, working alongside Lovats Group and NG Bailey – Facilities Services, ensuring continuity of service for boilers, pumps, solar systems, and wider energy infrastructure. Together, the dual-lot award guarantees long-term reliability and compliance for the council’s heating assets.
Pushing compliance and safety to the forefront, Sheffield City Council has procured Harmony Fire for a £11.67m, 48-month fire safety responsive repairs contract. Spanning housing stock across Yorkshire and the Humber, the call-off agreement covers fire door replacements, compartmentation works, firestopping, and glazing upgrades, underpinning the council’s statutory housing safety obligations.
Upgrading community security, Clackmannanshire Council has contracted SPG Integrated for a £3.6m, 36-month measured-term agreement. This project will modernise common area door entry systems, install CCTV, and deliver complementary refurbishments including rewiring, lighting upgrades, and close painting, all managed through the housing investment programme.
Investing in new supply, The Highland Council has awarded TSL Contractors a £3.74m, 15-month contract to build 12 housing units on the site of a former primary school. The Scotland-based development includes full site works, drainage, and external service connections, contributing to affordable housing growth.
Completing the round of awards, Tandridge District Council has commissioned Greymoor Construction for a 34-month contract to design and build 16 new residential houses in Surrey. Funded in part by the Brownfield Land Release Fund, the £multi-million scheme involves demolition of disused sea cadet buildings, construction of new homes with parking and landscaping, and additional off-site parking works, aligned with government targets for brownfield redevelopment.
