Powerful investments are set to transform UK housing stock, with major contracts announced across roofing, compliance, facilities management, and fire safety. These awards mark a significant step forward in energy efficiency, safety standards, and housing infrastructure renewal nationwide.

Driving large-scale energy efficiency upgrades, North Lanarkshire Council has awarded a £99m, 24-month contract split across three lots to Procast Building Contractors, G.M.G. (Contractors) and Ailsa Building Contractors. The programme covers re-roofing, re-rendering, and a wide range of insulation works for council-owned, owner-occupied, and private sector homes. Scope includes photovoltaic installations, ventilation systems, asbestos removal, cavity wall and underfloor insulation, and comprehensive ECO-funding administration, ensuring both structural renewal and reduced energy costs.

Enhancing living standards in the South East, Southern Housing has appointed Booker & Best for an £2.7m, 11-month refurbishment contract delivering modern kitchens and bathrooms to homes across Kent. This project focuses on high-quality finishes and improved functionality, bringing long-term value to residents.

In Northern Ireland, Woven (formerly Habinteg Housing Association Ulster) has awarded a £5.94m, 36-month compliance certification and remedial works contract to C T S Projects. Covering gas, oil, electrical, fire safety, asbestos, water hygiene, and lifting equipment, this project will ensure full regulatory compliance and safer living environments across the association’s housing stock.

Prioritising fire safety for vulnerable communities, Trust Housing Association Ltd. has engaged VWS for a £700k, 24-month contract to maintain and repair fire alarms, emergency lighting, smoke ventilation, sprinklers, and dry risers. The works span sheltered and retirement housing in Scotland, including the Highlands and Outer Hebrides, with provision for two annual extensions.

Lincoln City Council has invested £490k over 11 months with Fieldway Supplies for the supply and installation of certified fire doors, strengthening building safety and compliance in residential blocks.

Expanding national service provision, the Crown Commercial Service has appointed CBRE Managed Services on a £20m, 60-month call-off contract for Total Facilities Management Services 2025, supporting the Office for National Statistics across multiple UK sites.

Bolstering material supply chains, Leicester City Council has awarded Travis Perkins a £24.8m, 56-month framework to provide housing stores materials, ensuring consistent access to essential supplies for maintenance and improvement works.

Boosting housing maintenance capacity, Onward Group Ltd. has awarded around 28 North West contracts for 10-month terms, strengthening reactive repair and compliance services across its portfolio. DLP Services (Northern) will deliver the £1.83m Principle – Group Interim D&D Repairs, Glenn Slater Building Contractors will handle the £1m Multi Discipline Reactive Works, Domestic Air takes on the £700k DMC Reactive Works, and Countrywide Environmental Services will manage the £500k Asbestos Reactive Works—ensuring swift response, safety compliance, and sustained housing stock quality.
