Significant funding continues to drive improvements in the UK social housing sector, with major investments in development, fire safety, compliance, waste management, and refurbishment.

Gold Hill Care has awarded a £200m, 12-month framework under the B2G MWX framework to a consortium of contractors, including Aspect Group Services, R. Benson Property Maintenance, Re-Gen (UK) Construction, Fortem Solutions, and others. This framework is designed to facilitate Minor Works, Repairs, Maintenance, and Improvements across both housing and non-housing projects nationwide. The agreement enables UK contracting authorities to procure both planned and responsive works, ensuring flexibility and efficiency in asset management. A major investment has been made by Lincolnshire County Council, which has called off Willmott Dixon Construction from a framework by Pagabo a £71.95m, 39-month contract for the Construction of a New 28-Bed Secure Children’s Home at Millennium Lodge, Sleaford. This project aims to deliver high-quality, purpose-built accommodation for vulnerable children, ensuring a safe and secure environment that meets the latest regulatory standards. Aspire Housing Limited has appointed Breck Homes under a £14.49m contract to Design and Construct 75 Residential Units across two sites in Knutton, Newcastle-under-Lyme. The development consists of a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom houses, as well as walk-up apartments, all delivered under Aspire’s DPS ID340 – Development Contractors Lot 2 framework. The project includes landscaping, infrastructure works, drainage, and sustainable construction practices, ensuring long-term resilience and energy efficiency.

A significant £4.68m, 48-month Development Consultants Framework has been established by Beyond Housing Ltd, appointing multiple firms for 7 lots including Acanthus WSM Architects, Arcus Consulting, RNJ Partnership, Elliott Associates, and others. This framework covers a broad range of professional consultancy services, including architectural design, civil and structural engineering, employer’s agent services, cost management, environmental consulting, and landscape architecture. The agreement will support Beyond Housing and its partner housing associations in delivering high-quality affordable housing and regeneration projects.

Swindon Borough Council has called off Ian Williams via SWPA Framework for a £4.03m, 24-month contract to carry out Passive Fire Protection Works across sheltered and supported housing schemes. The project involves fire door replacements, fire compartmentation, and fire stopping works, ensuring that all properties meet the latest fire safety compliance regulations and maintain high levels of tenant safety. Modernisation of housing stock continues in Hillingdon London Borough, where PFL Electrical has been awarded a £3.17m, 36-month contract to deliver Kitchen and Bathroom Replacements Lot 1. This initiative targets Area North postcodes: UB9, HA6, HA5 and focuses on improving housing quality, ensuring compliance with Decent Homes Standards, and enhancing tenant satisfaction.

Stroud District Council has secured Harmony Fire for a £2m, 24-month contract under a framework call-off to implement Passive Fire Protection Works. The project ensures fire safety compliance through fire-resistant upgrades. Lincoln City Council has called off Forza Facilities Management for a £833k, 12-month contract to provide Radon Remediation Services. The initiative mitigates radon risks in council housing and corporate properties, protecting residents’ health.
