The UK social housing sector continues to see major investments in infrastructure, sustainability, and compliance, with key contracts awarded for repairs, voids, decarbonisation, and refurbishment projects across councils and housing associations.
Brighter Places has awarded a £62.5m, 120-month contract to Ian Williams for Repairs and Voids work across its 3,600-property portfolio in Bristol and surrounding areas. The contract includes minor planned works and component replacements, ensuring long-term housing quality. Jigsaw Homes Group has called-off a £22.1m, 36-month contract with RE:GEN Group for Decarbonisation Works under the SHDF Wave 3 programme via Prosper Procurement Limited’s Decarbonisation Retro-Fit Framework. This initiative focuses on energy-efficient upgrades, including solar panel installations.
Hillingdon London Borough has partnered with Madison Brook Group on a £15.6m, 24-month contract for Bulk Property Acquisitions and Refurbishments. The contract covers sourcing, acquiring, and refurbishing up to 100 properties per year, ensuring high-quality, affordable housing supply. Scottish Government has appointed Energy Saving Trust via a mini competition on the Scottish Government’s Grant Fund Manager Dynamic Purchasing System on an £11.25m, 50-month contract to manage the Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES). This initiative provides tailored support and funding for community-led renewable energy projects.
Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council has directly awarded a £10m, 48-month contract to Shellen Security from the Pretium Building and Fire Safety Framework; Lot 1A, Fire Door Supply and Install, and Lot 5A-5E, Fireproofing and Compartmentation for Fire Remedial Works. The agreement includes fire door replacements and compartmentation improvements, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Bristol City Council has selected Synergize for a £4.48m, 24-month contract covering the Major Refurbishment of Ropewalk House. Works include structural repairs, fire safety upgrades, external insulation, and energy efficiency improvements.
Westminster London Borough has engaged Vital Energi Utilities on a £4.27m, 72-month contract to Manage the Ebury Bridge Estate Energy System. The contract involves maintenance, compliance, metering, billing, and sustainability measures. Hillingdon London Borough has awarded PFL Electrical a £4.21m, 36-month contract for Kitchen and Bathroom Replacements for Lot 3 – Area South postcodes: UB7, UB4, UB3 and BCS (Electrical and Building) Services worth £2.25m for Lot 2 – Area Central postcodes: UB10, HA4, UB8 out of 4 different lots, ensuring housing modernization and compliance.
Bristol City Council has partnered with Stepnell on a £3.18m, 12-month contract for affordable Home Development at Romney Avenue, including four terraced houses and eight apartments. Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Council (BCP) has launched a £2m, 36-month framework with City Plumbing Supplies Holdings, Gasbits, and John Nicholls Trading for Supply of Plumbing Trade Products to support planned and reactive maintenance across its 10,000-property portfolio.
