A strong wave of contract awards highlights continued investment in planned maintenance, responsive repairs, compliance services, adaptations, fire safety and housing refurbishment, with landlords and councils strengthening long-term delivery across housing stock and specialist property portfolios.

Leading today’s awards, Repair, Replacement of Windows, Doors and Associated Works has been awarded by Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing (STAR Housing) to Lutley Windows with a value of £27.3m. The three-year contract, with potential delivery extending over five years, covers the replacement and repair of windows, doors and associated planned maintenance works across housing stock. The programme includes high-performance installations, emergency and responsive repairs, asbestos management, tenant-focused remedial works and wider Decent Homes investment.

Supporting independent living, Minor Aids and Adaptations Delivery has been awarded by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council to BAX Construction for £950k. The contract delivers minor adaptations to council homes, including grab rails, ramps, stair rails, key safes, accessible showers and other mobility improvements. The procurement also includes associated asbestos surveying and removal where required, providing responsive adaptations that help residents remain safely within their homes.

Focusing on vulnerable accommodation, Repairs, Servicing and Maintenance Services for Short Stay (Homeless) Housing Properties has been awarded by Chichester District Council to Westons Group for £408k. The contract covers reactive repairs, servicing and planned maintenance across approximately 70 short-stay housing properties, including roofing, joinery, windows, doors, plumbing, electrical works, heating systems, damp treatment, fire doors, glazing and compliance maintenance supporting statutory landlord obligations.

Continuing investment in accessible housing, Adaptation of Existing Bathroom and Installation of Some Specialist Items – Steve Batch 9 and 10 has been awarded by Haringey London Borough to Advanced Building & Maintenance Services for £125k. The contract delivers specialist housing adaptations including level-access showers, bathroom alterations, stairlifts, through-floor lifts, ramps and associated accessibility improvements to support residents with changing mobility requirements.

Meanwhile, First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) has completed the award of Provision of Drainage & Water Main Day to Day Repairs to R H (NW) for £1.0m. The contract covers responsive drainage and water main repairs, CCTV drainage surveys, underground investigations and pipe replacement works across the landlord’s housing stock, supporting the ongoing maintenance of underground infrastructure and essential utility services. 

Strengthening building services compliance, Servicing and Repair of Domestic Gas and Renewable Heating Equipment has been awarded by Habinteg Housing Association Ltd. to Dodd Group (Midlands) for £1.0m. The call-off contract provides servicing, maintenance and responsive repair of domestic gas installations alongside renewable heating equipment, supporting ongoing compliance and reliable heating services across residential properties.

Expanding refurbishment capability, Supply of Furniture and Accessories as part of a Renewals and Refurbishments Programme has been awarded by Housing 21 to Barons (Fylde Coast Supplies), Furncare and Craftwork Upholstery with a total value of £5.2m over four years. The multi-supplier contract supports around 50 to 55 refurbishment projects annually, supplying furniture, soft furnishings and communal area accessories across retirement living and extra care housing developments.

Enhancing life safety infrastructure, Fire Suppression (Sprinkler) System Service, Maintenance & Repair has been awarded by East Ayrshire Council to Emtec Fire for £792k. The maintenance contract covers planned inspection, servicing, testing, certification and reactive repairs for sprinkler systems, hydrants, dry risers, gas suppression and cookerhood suppression systems, strengthening fire safety compliance across non-domestic properties.

Further reinforcing compliance services, Housing Fire & Intruder Alarm Maintenance has been awarded by Renfrewshire Council to Secureshield for £220k. The contract provides planned preventative maintenance alongside reactive repairs for fire and intruder alarm systems, ensuring continued operational reliability and compliance across the council’s housing portfolio.

Completing today’s awards, Provision of Home Energy Scotland Advice Centre Services Lots 1-5 has been awarded by Aberdeen City Council to various providers with an awarded value of £6.4m. The multi-lot contract delivers Home Energy Scotland advice centre services, providing households with expert guidance on affordable warmth, energy efficiency, low-carbon living and sustainable energy, supporting wider housing decarbonisation objectives across Scotland.
