A fresh wave of social housing procurement is driving investment across kitchens, repairs, new housing delivery, compliance, flood resilience and major framework opportunities, creating significant prospects for contractors, consultants and specialist suppliers throughout the UK.

Leading today’s procurement pipeline, Supply and Installation of Kitchens and Bathrooms (General Needs) from VIVID is a £50.0m procurement opportunity to appoint two contractors for the supply and installation of kitchens and bathrooms across its general needs housing stock.

Strengthening housing repairs delivery, Haringey London Borough has launched Provision of Disrepair Works Lot 1 and Lot 2, each valued at £3.6m, supporting disrepair works across around 21,000 homes, including 16,000 tenanted properties. Both contracts cover occupied homes, void properties and communal areas, creating parallel procurement opportunities for remedial works contractors delivering responsive housing repairs and compliance improvements.

Focusing on climate resilience, Bristol City Council has issued the Installation of Sustainable Drainage / Rainwater Management Systems, valued at £341k. The procurement opportunity seeks market engagement for property-level Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) across 411 addresses within 154 housing buildings, covering feasibility assessments, resident engagement, hydraulic analysis, installation of rainwater management measures and post-installation monitoring to improve flood resilience across council and private housing stock.

Representing the largest procurement of the day, Government Commercial Agency (Crown Commercial) has published Supply of Energy and Decarbonisation Service, a framework with a maximum value of £50.0bn. The recurring procurement covers electricity and gas supply, energy partnership services, bureau services and metering across more than 1,000 public sector organisations.

Supporting statutory compliance, Clanmil Housing Association has released Contract for Water Management Services, valued at £455k. The contract runs for an initial two years with options to extend by up to 36 months, covering Legionella risk assessments, water management services and ongoing compliance across Clanmil and partner organisation sites throughout Northern Ireland.

Looking towards future housing delivery, Town & Country Housing has published the Amberstone – Residential Development Works, valued at £10.0m. The planned residential development seeks delivery of sustainable, energy-efficient, low-maintenance homes with high standards of fire safety, building services, drainage, digital connectivity and long-term asset management, following completion of preliminary market engagement.

Preparing future development opportunities, Dover District Council has launched Land Between Eythorne and Elvington, valued at £1.5m. The preliminary market engagement will inform the procurement strategy for the proposed development site, helping shape the council’s future procurement approach. 

Expanding environmental maintenance services, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council has issued Tree Maintenance 2026 – 2030, a £2.4m framework appointing three contractors for tree inspection and maintenance across highways, parks, open spaces, council housing gardens, sheltered accommodation and wider council assets. The four-year contract is evaluated on 70% price and 30% quality.

Supporting affordable housing delivery, Southwark Council has commenced market engagement through Development Partner for Keyworker Housing at Rotherhithe New Road and 25 Cherry Garden Street, valued at £1.5m. The future procurement seeks a development partner to design, construct and operate 100% affordable key worker housing across two sites using a Competitive Flexible Procedure under the Procurement Act 2023, with supplier engagement taking place during July 2026.

Completing today’s market activity, A2Dominion Housing Group Ltd. has published Provision of Insurance and Risk Related Services for City Wharf, valued at £3.0m. The preliminary engagement covered buildings insurance and associated risk management services for City Wharf, with the contract commencement amended to December 2026, informing future procurement arrangements for the residential development.
