A strong day of UK contract awards highlights continued investment in housing repairs, accessibility, compliance, retrofit, asset maintenance and public estate improvements, with housing providers and public bodies advancing frameworks and long-term delivery programmes across the sector.

Setting the pace, Aids and Adaptations Works Contract has been awarded by Barnet Homes to Effectable Construction Services with a total value of £4m. The contract has an initial three-year term with the option to extend by two years. The procurement covers the design, supply and installation of accessibility adaptations across housing stock, including kitchens, wet rooms, lifts, hoists, ramps, specialist WCs, door automation and associated minor remedial works and call-outs, supporting independent living.

Following this, Howdon Rosehill Estate – Kitchen and Bathroom Installations has been awarded by North Tyneside Council to A & J Keith for £563k. Awarded through a mini competition, the contract delivers kitchen and bathroom replacement works within the Howdon Rosehill Estate, supporting planned investment in council housing stock through refurbishment and component renewal.

Continuing investment in housing maintenance, Framework for Repairs & Renovations has been established by Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council with a total framework value of £492k. The multi-supplier framework covers general repairs, maintenance, decoration, gardening and larger-scale renovation works across two lots, providing a flexible procurement route for ongoing property improvement works throughout the borough.

Strengthening statutory compliance, Temporary Gas Repairs and Servicing has been awarded by Reading Borough Council to TSG Building Services for £1m over one year. The contract provides gas servicing, maintenance and responsive repair services across residential housing stock, ensuring continued compliance and uninterrupted service delivery while longer-term arrangements are progressed.

Expanding national asset maintenance capability, Passenger Lifts has been awarded by Places for People Group to multiple suppliers with a framework value of £15.2m over four years. Covering approximately 500 passenger lifts across the UK, the framework provides servicing, planned maintenance and responsive repairs for multiple group organisations, supporting building compliance and operational resilience across the estate.

Supporting smarter estate management, Building Energy Management Systems has been awarded by Bradford Metropolitan City Council to Triad Controls for £540k. The contract provides ongoing support, software development and upgrades for bespoke Building Energy Management Systems across 110 council buildings, helping improve energy efficiency, reduce operational costs and support net-zero objectives.

Enhancing void property standards, Needle Sweeps, Environmental Cleans and Cleaning has been awarded by VIVID to DCL Property Services and SPS Doorguard for £900k. Split across two regional lots, the contract delivers environmental cleans, specialist needle sweeps and cleaning services for void properties throughout Hampshire and surrounding operational areas, supporting safe property turnaround and housing stock readiness.

Delivering long-term public estate improvements, Hard FM – Lifecycle Component Replacement Projects (DPS Framework) has been established by Aberdeenshire Council with a total value of £18m. Awarded to multiple contractors, the framework supports lifecycle replacement projects including boiler upgrades, roofing, rewiring, window replacements and external resurfacing works, providing a flexible procurement route for planned building maintenance across the council estate.

Advancing retrofit investment, Roof & Render, EWI, Solar PV, Cavity Extraction & Renewal has been awarded by River Clyde Homes to Procast Building Contractors for £1.5m. Called off from the SPA Retrofit & Decarbonisation Framework, the contract delivers external wall insulation, roofing, render improvements, solar PV installations and cavity insulation renewal to improve housing energy performance.

Supporting affordable housing delivery, Coolnagard Phase 2b Omagh Land Design and Build has been awarded by Choice to Newpark Developments (NW) for £991k. The design and build contract covers land supply alongside the construction of new social housing in Omagh, delivering homes through the Social Housing Development Programme in accordance with planning, statutory and housing association standards.

Completing another residential improvement project, Christie Street – Refurbishment Works has been awarded by Renfrewshire Council to Procast Building Contractors for £510k. The contract delivers refurbishment and repairs to the external fabric of a four-storey residential block, extending building life through essential remedial works and planned asset maintenance.

Representing the largest award of the day, Procurement for St Thomas Energy Project – Energy as a Service (EaaS) Solution for GSTT has been awarded by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust to Meridiam with an estimated framework value of £2bn. The eight-year framework establishes a strategic energy partnership supporting estate modernisation, low-carbon infrastructure, construction, operation and long-term maintenance across NHS organisations and eligible public sector bodies through future call-off contracts.

Completing today’s awards, Engineering, Associated Services & Public Realm and Structures Surveys (E&S) has been awarded by London Legacy Development Corporation to multiple suppliers with a framework value of £50m. The framework provides professional engineering, highways, structural, mechanical and electrical consultancy alongside specialist survey services to support infrastructure maintenance, regeneration projects and future development across Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and associated public assets.
