Strong investment across responsive repairs, voids, new build housing, compliance services and asset improvement dominated today’s UK social housing contract awards, highlighting continued procurement activity supporting housing stock maintenance, development and long-term operational resilience.

Setting the pace for today’s awards, Repairs and Void Work to Support Internal DLO has been awarded by Connexus Homes Ltd. to GB Group (Corporate), Rigford and Specialised Group t/a SSR Roofing under contracts worth £7.6m. The multi-lot procurement supports Connexus’ Direct Labour Organisation with responsive repairs, void works, roofing, specialist cleaning and clearance across Shropshire and Herefordshire. The framework strengthens business continuity by providing specialist trade capacity and additional operational resilience across its housing stock.

Continuing investment in housing maintenance, Work to Void Properties and Grounds to Enable Properties to Be Re-Let has been awarded by Redditch Borough Council to Dodd Group (Midlands) with a total contract value of £3.6m. The contract covers void property remedial works and grounds maintenance required to prepare council homes for reletting, helping minimise void turnaround times while maintaining housing stock standards through an essential responsive maintenance procurement.

Further investment in vertical transportation follows with Lift Replacement Works, awarded by Delta Housing Limited (formerly CHP) to Apex Lift & Escalator Engineers for £421k. The contract delivers replacement of three hydraulic passenger lifts with modern electric traction machine-room-less lifts, improving reliability, resident safety, energy efficiency and long-term asset performance within the landlord’s housing stock improvement programme.

Fire Remedial Actions – Quinn London has secured a £2.2m contract from Kingston upon Thames London Borough to deliver fire remedial works, supporting fire safety improvements across the council’s property portfolio. 

Adding momentum to affordable housing delivery, Task 10 Heath Town – Construction of Thirty-four New Homes has been awarded by Wolverhampton City Council to Keon Homes for £9.3m. The call-off contract, procured through the Internal Housing Development Framework Agreement, covers construction of 34 new homes together with associated external works, infrastructure and services, reinforcing the council’s programme to expand quality affordable housing provision.

Strengthening the new-build pipeline, White Hall Residential New Build has been awarded by Bristol City Council to Stepnell with a contract value of £6.9m. The procurement delivers construction of 23 social rent apartments alongside access roads, parking, cycle storage, refuse facilities, drainage, landscaping and supporting infrastructure, increasing affordable housing supply while enhancing sustainable residential development.

Maintaining the focus on affordable housing growth, Construction of 9 New Affordable Homes – Frogpool (CHL 162) JCT has been awarded by Coastline Housing Ltd. to Classic Builders (South West) for £1.7m. The contract delivers nine new affordable homes together with associated infrastructure at Trelyn, Frogpool, supporting regional housing delivery and expanding high-quality affordable housing provision.

Concluding today’s awards, Loft and Cavity Wall Insulation Programme 2026 – 2028 has been awarded by Folkestone & Hythe District Council to Aran Insulation for £1.2m. Delivered through an LHC Procurement Group framework direct award, the contract provides loft and cavity wall insulation across social housing properties, improving thermal efficiency, supporting decarbonisation objectives and enhancing the long-term performance of the council’s housing stock.
