Strong investment in retrofit, planned maintenance, regeneration and housing development dominated today’s UK social housing contract awards, with landlords and councils advancing major programmes spanning energy efficiency, fire safety, responsive repairs, new homes and asset management.

Leading today’s awards, Domestic Energy Retrofit Works has been awarded by Cheshire East Council to Community Home Solutions with a total value of £14.4m. Awarded through the ProcurePlus DPS PP250760, the contract covers domestic energy retrofit works across the council’s housing stock, supporting decarbonisation objectives through a framework call-off procurement.

Strengthening planned investment programmes, Kitchens & Bathrooms Replacement Works has been awarded by Freebridge Community Housing Ltd. to CLC Contractors Limited and Lukemans Ltd, with a combined contract value of £12.5m. The contracts run for up to seven years, including extension options, delivering kitchen and bathroom replacements to tenanted homes and associated properties while maintaining tenant satisfaction and consistent delivery standards.

Supporting responsive maintenance delivery, Framework Agreement for Responsive and Emergency Builder, Plastering, Roofing and Fencing Works has been awarded by Link Group Ltd. with a total framework value of £9.0m. Contractors including Cardo (Scotland), CRD Property Renovations and Reinstatements, and Saltire Roofing & Building will deliver responsive and emergency repairs across Central, East and West Scotland under a multi-lot framework covering building, roofing, plastering and fencing works.

Enhancing repair capacity, Voids & Repairs Works for St Leger Homes of Doncaster  has been awarded by St. Leger Homes of Doncaster Ltd to Concorde BGW and Allerton Damp Proofing for £2.6m. The initial two-year contract, with options to extend for a further two years, was awarded through the EN:Procure Dynamic Purchasing System and provides additional capacity for void property and general building repairs.

Adding specialist maintenance provision, Drain Cleaning Contractor has been awarded by Choice to Enva Northern Ireland for £525k. The contract appoints a specialist drain cleaning contractor to support Choice Services Ireland’s housing maintenance operations through dedicated drainage maintenance services.

Advancing building safety programmes, Aster Group has awarded two Fire Remediation Works contracts through the LHC Building and Fire Safety Framework Lot WS4A. Axis Europe secured a £3.5m contract, while Ian Williams was awarded £1.6m. Both contracts cover fire remediation works including compartmentation, fire door repairs and renewals, and associated fire stopping works across various Aster properties, addressing actions identified in Specialist Fire Safety Reports through a direct framework award.

Maintaining essential compliance services, Maintenance and Repair of Housing Passenger Lifts has been awarded by Hull City Council to Pickerings Lifts for £3.2m. The three-year contract, with an option to extend by up to two years, provides maintenance and repair services for passenger lifts serving council housing, supporting ongoing compliance and reliable operation across the housing stock.

Representing the day’s largest award, Regina Road Regeneration – Award of Main Contractor for Design and Build Regina Road Combined with Demolition has been awarded by Croydon London Borough to Lovell Partnerships with an overall project value of £140.0m. Procured through the South East Consortium Construction and Development DPS, the contract will deliver demolition and regeneration works creating up to 340 homes, including 225 affordable homes, alongside new community facilities, green spaces and public realm improvements.

Continuing affordable housing delivery, Garden Lane New Build Development has been awarded by Karbon Homes to Termrim Construction for £5.8m. Awarded following a further competition under the Prosper Procurement framework, the principal contractor will construct 66 new-build homes through a two-stage procurement process.

Expanding social housing supply, Arden 6 New-Build Housing Development has been awarded by Glen Oaks Housing Association Ltd. to AS Homes with a value of £4.2m. The design and build contract will deliver 19 new social rented houses, increasing affordable housing provision through a dedicated new-build development.

Concluding today’s awards, Agile Software Engineering Application – BIP Solutions Ltd has been awarded by Peabody Trust to Endava (UK) for £2.9m. Let through the G-Cloud 14 framework, the contract provides agile software engineering services to support Peabody’s digital housing management and operational systems.
